This section of the website provides links to information about the administration of the Faculty of Medicine.
It includes details of the way the Faculty is organised and managed, including the various Faculty Committees, as well as information about the running of each Schools, Institutes & Departments (SIDs) and Campuses.
Organisation
The administration of the Faculty is carried out through 6 academic Schools, Institutes and Departments (SIDs), which are based on multiple sites.
The SID Managers are:

Research Strategy
The Research Strategy is the driver for academic developments in the Faculty of Medicine. Strategic Research Themes help to focus the work of every research group in the Faculty.
The strategy is developed and monitored by the Faculty Research Committee. This committee identifies key areas for research and works with Theme Leaders to ensure a vibrant research culture.
Management
The head of the Faculty of Medicine is the Principal, Professor Steve Smith, with Professor Sir Anthony Newman Taylor as his deputy, and the senior manager of the Faculty in charge of administration is the Faculty Operating Officer, Mr Philip Blissett.

Teaching administration
Teaching within the Faculty is undertaken in 'virtual schools'. The undergraduate course is administered by the Faculty in liaison with student representatives via the Undergraduate Medicine Office.
Postgraduate courses are centrally organised by the Graduate School of Life Sciences and Medicine.
